Come join us for a hand building workshop this August with artist in residence Maliya Travers-Crumb! NATURE IN CUT PAPER WORKSHOP

with Jill Grimes

Saturday, August 18 from 12 to 3 p.m.

$35 per person, all materials included

Explore composition, color relationships, form, flatness, texture and pattern using collaged cut papers with artist in residence Jill Grimes. Participants will draw from plants and flowers as a focus, and will generate collages based on the drawings made that day. Many examples of collage will be discussed, and participants are encouraged to try approaches that are new to them.

For centuries, visual artists have made collages as a part of their studio practice. Practically unlimited in scope and method, collage is a great way to try out ideas and expand your approach to your work. Often made with “throwaway” materials, the freedom in working this way may open up new ways of thinking about your studio practice.
